An Update from the President, Joe O'Donnell

I am off to the mid winter conference in Longmont in the morning, but before I go I have a few items of interest.

If you missed this weeks meeting, we collected $1,560.00 in the Happy Buck basket for the youth of Haiti. That is a little more than we announced at the meeting; it included funds from members who were not at the meeting and $200.00 from the St. Stephen's Builders Club.

We have started the sign up sheet for the Williams Peak climb. The climb will be March 6th, we will meet at 10:00 am in the Safeway parking lot (behind US Bank) and car pool to the staging area.  We will be installing an American flag at the top of Williams. We are planning on a picture of the member holding the Kiwanis banner with the flag flying in the background.  I would like to remind all that this is a tough climb and depends on the weather; if it is snowing we will postpone the climb.

The Glenwood Springs Financial Advisory Board has approved our request for $3,300.00 to finish paying for the shelter extension.  Hopefully the City Council will approve the  Financial Advisory Board recommendation.  We will know if they do after the  March 3 Council meeting.
